Villabate Pastry Shop

This pastry shop is already my favorite for all family desserts and goodies so my wedding cake from here was a must. I specialized our cake through our reception venue and the bakery manager on the phone. He did a magnificent job at including all the details I requested to be on the cake. We also needed an extra tier added on at last minute and the bakery staff was so accomadating to get it done for us on time. I was very specific about the purple piping and cream icing on outside of cake and they got the cake to look too good to be eaten at the end. The inside was moist and delicious as well. This will stay as my all time favorite bakery after all the effort they put into our wedding cake.

Oh what a Cake! Exceeded expectations. Since my wedding ceremony and reception was being held in NYC, I decided to go to many of the top-rated NY bakers for my wedding cake. I have to say I was highly underwhelmed, especially given the pricing and the taste. I would bring samples home to my fiance and we would comment on how dry and tasteless some of the cakes were. We even thought about baking our own cakes since most of the samples tasted like duncan hines box mix! When I told my sister about the horrible experience I had in trying to find a cake, she suggested Villabate. We had used Villabate for many years for smaller family functions and for our occasional Sunday dinner pastries. I didn't think they made wedding cakes. I went to their store and worked with Manni. What a pleasure! He was so easy to work with and they had many wedding cakes styles to choose from and many different flavors. We ordered a four-tier cake. At first, I had wanted a very different looking cake but didn't want to sacrifice taste. So I purchased the Villabate cake thinking taste first, looks second. The cake was beyond gorgeous and tasted moist and fresh (not out of a box). I couldn't stop talking about the cake. It looked like a very upscale NYC cake. I would highly recommend them - at least stop by and take a look and a taste. You will not be disappointed. At least, I wasn't. I highly recommend them.
